Drinking Water and Sanitation Project Arnakot
Donation: € 7.500
Arnakot and Upper-Bengri are both located in a rural mountain area in Nepal. The communities have to rely on three water taps which rarely provide water. The people there have to walk about 2,5 hours, twice a day, to fill their buckets with water.
In collaboration with the Nepalese Red Cross and local companies, this "drinking water- and sanitation project" will change that situation. A new water supply system will be constructed in the period from March 2011 until March 2013. A total of 19 km of pipes and 41 taps will result in easy accessible and healthy drinking water. The 176 toilets will be constructed at the same time.
